On 24 July 2026 an FDA advisory committee voted 7-4 to recommend epithalon for the list of bulk substances that compounding pharmacies may use. That single vote put the epithalon peptide back into the news, years after it was first studied in Russian ageing labs. On the commercial side, the cheapest listing we track is a 10 mg research vial from Real Peptides at $24.00, which works out to $2.40 per mg.

This website discusses three main issues in simple terms: the essence of epithalon research, the regulatory situation in 2026, and the pricing information of the two research companies that we monitor. This substance is not an approved medication by the FDA. It is sold for research purposes only, with nothing mentioned that could be regarded as the advice to take it.

Epithalon peptide prices from the two vendors we track

In our comparison chart of research vendors, two of them offer the peptide epithalone: Real Peptides and Peptide God. Their prices for this product are almost the same, but the terms of shipping differ greatly, thus effecting the total costs of orders.

ListingVendorPriceStated sizeFree US shipping
Epithalon Peptide (10mg)Real Peptides$24.0010 mgOrders over $250
EpithalonPeptide God$29.95Not stated in our dataOrders over $100

Peptide God also offers 30-day free returns and states lab-tested purity of 99% or higher. Real Peptides states a third-party COA for its vial. Because the Peptide God listing in our data does not give a vial size, check it on the product page before you compare per-mg cost. The full breakdown is on our epithalon price per mg page.

Where epithalon came from

Epithalon, which is sometimes spelled epitalon, is a short synthetic peptide made up of four amino acids, discovered through Russian aging research. It was created as a synthesized version of research that followed from the study of an extract from the pineal gland, which had been investigated by Russian gerontology researchers over the years.

This origin helps us to understand two things that the buyers pay attention to. Firstly, very many books are originally written in Russian; many of them are old, and numerous publications come from some journals unknown to the Western readers. Secondly, both of the spellings are due to trenliterisation, not two different words.

What kind of research exists

The majority of the studies on epithalon consist of laboratory work with cultured cells and animals as well as research from a few Russian academic groups on older human beings. There is an absence of wide and current studies on humans under placebo conditions.

  • Cell studies: lab work measuring telomerase activity and telomere length in cultured cells.
  • Animal studies: rodent experiments looking at lifespan, tumour incidence and markers of ageing.
  • Small human studies: Russian reports in elderly groups, with designs and sizes that fall short of what a regulator would accept for approval.

Peptide God's own listing lists "most data from older, small studies" as a con, which is a fair summary. Our page on epitalon benefits goes through each type of study and what it can and cannot tell you.

The July 2026 FDA panel vote and what it changed

The vote changed the outlook, not the law. FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee met on 23-24 July 2026 and recommended six peptides for the 503A bulks list. Epitalon was voted on the second day, 7-4 in favour.

The recommendation is non-binding. FDA still has to make its own decision and then run proposed and final rulemaking with public comment. As of the July meeting, epithalon had not been added and pharmacies could not yet compound it. Research vendors continue to sell it labelled for research use only. The details, including the other peptides voted on that week, are on our FDA 2026 page.

In most longevity associations where epithalon appears, two more research products are also indicated: MOTS-c and NAD+. Yet, these products cannot substitute for one another since they actually differ in terms of mechanisms which they influence in cell.

Real Peptides lists MOTS-c Peptide at $43.20 for a 10 mg vial ($4.32 per mg), and its NAD+ Peptide (Multi-Dose Vial) at $60.00. MOTS-c is a mitochondria-derived peptide studied mostly in animal metabolism and exercise research, and it was also recommended by the July panel. NAD+ is a coenzyme found in every cell. Neither is FDA-approved as sold here.

How we check a listing before recommending it

I look at the same handful of points on every epithalon peptide listing, and buyers can do the same in a few minutes:

  1. Does the listing state a vial size, so price per mg can be worked out?
  2. Is there a certificate of analysis, and does it match the product name and batch?
  3. What is the free-shipping threshold, and how many vials does it take to reach it?
  4. Does the site stick to research labelling, or does it drift into human-use instructions?

The last point matters more since August 2026, when FDA sent warning letters to five online peptide vendors and said it looks at the whole website, not just a "research use only" label. A seller that adds dosing guidance or treatment claims is taking a regulatory risk, and that risk can reach its customers through seized or withdrawn stock. Our buy epithalon page walks through vendor terms in more detail.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Is the epithalon peptide FDA-approved?
No. It is not an FDA-approved drug and research vendors sell it labelled for research use only. An FDA advisory panel recommended it for the compounding bulks list in July 2026, but that vote is non-binding.
